Any data that can be read and or written by a FieldServer can be made available as XML data. There are several schema’s that can be used.

As you are probably aware, XML provides a structure to define a data transfer method but does not define the method itself. To exchange data the structure and content of message must be recognizable by both parties in the exchange. Having a common structure (XML) is not enough itself. There are several XML drivers for the FieldServer gateways. One set is provided for remote systems to query/set data in FieldServer data arrays. This XML schema is available as a UDP, TCP or even serial driver. Another driver available for XML has a more flexible schema that allows the FieldServer to read/write data from XML servers. Finally we have a couple of XML drivers that were developed for specific customers to meet specific schema requirements. An example of one of these drivers is one specifically aimed as transferring schedule data from and XML server to.
