Connecting SNMP(std) to Notifer

You have two devices in two different buildings on two completely different networks, one that uses the SNMP(std) protocol to communicate, while the other one talks Notifer Legacy Panels protocol and they need to talk to each other. What do you do?

A FieldServer is a protocol converter or gateway that can communicate in many different protocols and physical layers including SNMP(std) protocol and the Notifer Legacy Panels protocol. The Fieldserver acts as a middle man between the two devices. It reads data from one device, stores it internally and makes it available to the 2nd device using another protocol. This is how the FieldServer converts SNMP(std) data to Notifer Legacy Panels data.

It's a simple solution to a common problem that we can help you with.

SNMP(std)

Description: The FieldServer SNMP - STD driver provides an SNMP v.1 client and agent (server). The client can be configured to read values specified by their SNMP Object Identifiers (OIDís), which are defined in the MIB file (Management Information Base) of the target device. The FieldServer SNMP Gateway provides a generic MIB fiel that sets out the OID's structures to use. The FieldServer Enterprise ID is 6347. A selection of standard MIB-2 OID's are supported to allow interaction with popular Network Management packages.
Acting as an SNMP agent (server), the SNMP-STD driver makes allows SMCP Get, GetNext(walk) and Set commands to access Data Arrays using the Integer type. The SNMP v1 protocol does not make provisioin for Floats. The SNMP - STD driver can also send SNMP traps. FieldServer's standard MIB file also provides the structures for SNMP traps. The following SNMP data types are currently supported:
INTEGER OCTET_STRING TIMER_TICKS

Notifer Legacy Panels

Add value to your fire panel with emote monitoring

Connect your Notifier legacy panels to Building Automation Systems and Industrial systems for remote monitoring of alarms, troubles, disables, on-offs and more for detectors, modules and zones. This driver can poll for data and accept status update messages sent when events occur. This allows the driver to synch with the panel on start and to keep its data current when an event occurs.

We have drivers for a large number of Notifier panel types including many legacy panels.
