Modbus Plus (MB)

This solution is provided to protect your investment in legacy / obsolete equipment. The solution uses a MB+ card installed in a FieldServer. This makes the solution more expensive than most FieldServer solutions.


Modbus Plus protocol is a time-proven, robust communications platform with a huge installed base and industry acceptance. It is a high-speed (one megabaud) network that supports both peer-to-peer and master/slave type communications. Modbus Plus is used by Modicon PLCs, operator interfaces, PCs and other data sources to communicate throughout an automated facility over a twisted-pair cable. Modbus Plus provides all of the benefits of an effective communications network including reduced wiring and maintenance costs, improved productivity through diagnostics, accuracy and information flexibility.

Notifier 3030

The FieldServer acts as a Passive Client receiving messages and recording the status of a Notifier 3030 Fire Alarm Panel. There is no active polling by this driver; the communications are one-way through the panel's printer port. The main purpose of this driver is to record the status of Fire Alarm System detectors and Modules in Data Arrays - one Data Array per loop. It is limited by the information that the Notifier NFS3030 unit sends in the form of text messages through its RS-232 printer port. The accuracy and timeliness of the data is therefore limited to the frequency of update messages that the Notifier Fire Panel issues. More information, Driver Data Sheet
