A FieldServer is a protocol converter or gateway that can communicate in many different protocols and physical layers including Cummins protocol and the GE SRTP protocol. The Fieldserver acts as a middle man between the two devices. It reads data from one device, stores it internally and makes it available to the 2nd device using another protocol. This is how the FieldServer converts Cummins data to GE SRTP data.

Cummins generator and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) controls support Lonworks on a FTT10 network. We have worked closely with Cummins Western Canada to develop tested interfaces to BACnet and other protocols.
Our solutions can be configured so that you do not need to 'Commission' and 'Bind'. These two processes require Lonworks software tools and expertise. If required we can avoid this by using an explicit lonworks configuration which uses Network Management functions for data transfer. SRTP=Service Request Transfer Protocol
he GE-SRTP driver allows the FieldServer to transfer data to and from devices over Ethernet using GE-SRTP Driver protocol. Almost all GE automation equipment supports the GE-SRTP protocol when equipped with an Ethernet Port.
The FieldServer can emulate either a Server or Client. The driver, acting as a Client, is capable of reading and writing system memory of any number of remote SRTP capable devices. The FieldServer can scale word data ( %AQ, %AI, %R ) when acting as a Client.
When configured to act as an SRTP Server, the driver accepts system messages which write to system memory and responds to read requests. When acting as a Server the driver is always at privilege level 4 (allowing it to be written and read).
The driver cannot emulate a Client and Server simultaneously on the same connection to the same IP address.
